An Arabian Dream
I've always been horse crazy! Anything with a mane and tail was to be druelled over. Horse pictures covered the bedroom wall in place of "Pop stars" and "normal girlie things".

At the ripe old age of twelve, my parents finally relented and purchased a pretty chestnut two year old mare, Trixi Belles. Although only just broken in, Trixi and Marion, soon formed a life long partnership until Trixi's passing at 34 years......over the years there were lots of disagreements and parting of the ways; which often saw Trixi standing over Marion with a puzzled look on her face. Trixi and Marion competed at pony club; at shows; ran away from home (until tea time !) played polocrosse; campdrafted; and mustered cattle on her parents property.

During a trip with Williamstown Pony Club, to Fenwick Arabian Stud in Victoria, an introduction to the newly imported Arabian stallion "Greylight", resulted in a severe case of "Arabitis". Hence forth, all things Arabian were to be lusted after! Dreams of owing an Arabian were to take awhile.

Many years later following Uni, Marriage and family life, fate stepped in. Heavily pregnant with our third son Brendan, a client of our Equipment Hire Company (All Type Rentals) mentioned that he had a two year old Pure Arabian colt for sale, that he'd just broken in. Chestnut, with blonde mane and tail, lots of "Chrome", how could I resist ?...... And so a love affair began with Crystiya Count Mileno (Talika Rhinegold x Picadilly Camilla) who was to become the fountainhead of our stud.

Now if you have an Arabian stallion you need mares ! My long suffering husband Martyn, was soon to realise that this was more than just a hobby ! Starting with Arabian / Thoroughbred derivatives we soon had some very nice foals on the ground, by Count. Count and Marion were busy in the showrings around S.E. Queensland making a name for him, with many Championships in Halter and Hi Point Perfomance Awards against all breeds.

The Count's first foal crop were exceptional with striking markings, conformation, big bold movement..... tiny ears and big brown eyes just like dad ! Pretty soon our showteam outgrew the double horsefloat ...... a five horse truck soon fixed that ! Now my three sons and the horses had room to move ! The 1980's saw us consistenly winning in Halter and Performance with our derivatives at "AA" Arabian shows like: the Arabian Valley Trophy Show, Qld Challenge, RNA (The Ekka), The Pinto State Championships and local agricultural shows.

In the early 90's a visit to Fairview Stud, resulted in the purchase of Amir el Sadat fa (Amir el Shaklan {imp UK} x Kreoluka {imp UK}) a leggy, mahogany bay, four month old purebred colt. Sadat's full brother Fairview Klassique; our second choice, had recently been purchased by Quinton Naylor. While Klassique went on to be named Australian National Champion and American National Champion Arabian Stallion, for Quinton. Sadat; who's also registered with ANSA Inc (Australian National Saddlehorse), earned Australian Arabian Championships Top Tens in Halter, Hacking, Western Pleasure and lots of Supremes in Arabian and ANSA Inc classes.

Our most memorable show was the first ANSA Inc Australian Championship Show where we had the only Arabians on the grounds !
Results:- 1st & Reserve Champion Jnr Colt, with Allatah Ibn Sadat (Amir el Sadat fa x Sabtah Morning Mist);
